xxxRuthie Spoonemore
At seventeen, I
was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis. I have had
thirteen surgeries to replace, remove, and revise my
affected joints. I have led a challenging, yet,
interesting life. My dream is to write a book to show
God's influence on my life. Joni Earikson Tada is one of
my favorite authors; her books are encouraging and
inspirational.
My grandmother was very important in my life. She
not only taught me about everyday life, she also taught
me about my spiritual life. She was the one that made
sure I went to Sunday school. She gave me my very
first Bible. She loved writing poetry, and several times,
through the years, our church printed her poetry in their
bulletin. Every time I read her poetry, I feel
transported into another world. I want to write just like
her. I want to move my readers to feel
somethinghappiness, anger, sadnessto react to
the words on the paper, or online.
I love to draw and paint, especially watercolors. I have
a website Ruthies Art (www.ruthiesart.com) where some of
my work is displayed and you can find links to my online
stores where various items bearing my art can be
purchased.
I am no longer as driven to paint. I have renewed my
desire to write and have enrolled in a course at the Long
Ridge Writing Group. I am working on my fourth
assignment, but have submitted my third assignment to a
magazine for possible publication.
Although nonfiction seems to be easier for me to write, I
plan to try my hand at fiction. Like my investment
portfolio, I want to be diversified.
